Mikhail Kukushkin announces the launch of Kukushkin performance academy at RozaRossa
Professional tennis continues to evolve thanks to athletes who not only achieve top results on court but also dedicate themselves to developing the next generation of players. Mikhail Kukushkin — one of Kazakhstan’s most recognized ATP Tour competitors, who recently announced his retirement from professional tennis in October 2026 at the Almaty Open — is launching his next chapter with the creation of Kukushkin Performance Academy, based at the RozaRossa tennis complex in Marbella, Spain.
The academy is designed for young and developing athletes aiming to transition from junior tennis into the professional tour through a structured, high-performance approach, with preparation at Tennis Europe, ITF, ATP, and WTA levels.
Kukushkin performance academy: A new standard in player development
The academy focuses on comprehensive player development, covering individual on-court training, tactical and technical development, match psychology and mental preparation, physical and tennis-specific conditioning, preparation for Tennis Europe, ITF, ATP, and WTA tournaments, and season planning and tournament scheduling. Although the academy has only recently been announced, Kukushkin is already actively involved in supporting young players at RozaRossa.
One example is Maria Parkhomenko, a leading player in her age category (under 11) in Spain, six-time Andalusia champion, and now transitioning to Tennis Europe-level competition. Last year, Maria signed a contract with global tennis brand HEAD and is also supported by sports agency Sparta, which manages her professional development pathway. Kukushkin has already evaluated her game, provided positive feedback, and continues to contribute to her development through advisory support. Her full training process is led by her personal coach, Nikolay Parkhomenko.

RozaRossa: A complete high-performance training environment
The academy is based at RozaRossa, one of Europe’s most comprehensive tennis and sports performance centers, located in Marbella — a key destination for year-round professional training. RozaRossa is not only a tennis academy but a full-scale sports performance center combining training, accommodation, and lifestyle infrastructure in one place.
Facilities and training programs
The complex includes tennis courts of multiple surfaces (hard, clay, grass, and more), padel courts, recovery and relaxation areas, fitness and conditioning facilities, professional sparring programs, individualized training systems, junior and development programs, and international training camps.
The full training system covers individual coaching sessions, sparring with players of different levels, general physical preparation, tennis-specific physical conditioning, fitness and functional training, recovery and rehabilitation programs, career development consulting, and tournament planning and scheduling support. This integrated approach allows players to focus entirely on their athletic development while all structural and logistical aspects are managed within the academy.
Sports residence
One of the key advantages of RozaRossa is its sports residence, which allows athletes to fully focus on training without logistical distractions. It offers modern accommodation units of various categories, on-site living within walking distance of the courts, full-board nutrition (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), access to recovery and wellness facilities, physiotherapy and recovery services, and a swimming pool and relaxation areas.
Athletes can stay for short or extended training blocks — from several days to weeks or even months — allowing for a complete professional training cycle in one environment. The complex also features a restaurant where athletes and guests can host events, celebrations, business meetings, and recovery days in a comfortable setting.
Larisa Savchenko
A separate and highly important professional direction within RozaRossa is led by Larisa Savchenko, who serves as a senior coach and works closely with the academy on training programs, player development, and high-level consultations. A 6-time Grand Slam champion, 15-time Grand Slam finalist, former World No. 1 in doubles, and Top 10 singles player, her involvement gives RozaRossa athletes access to world-class WTA-level expertise that is rarely available in most tennis academies worldwide.
Larisa Savchenko represents a separate professional development direction within RozaRossa, complementing the Kukushkin Performance Academy and enhancing the overall training ecosystem.
RozaRossa: An international tennis development hub
Today, RozaRossa functions as a complete high-performance tennis environment combining professional tennis development, junior and youth programs, international training camps, athlete accommodation, restaurant and lifestyle services, and recovery and medical support. This makes RozaRossa one of the most versatile and comprehensive tennis centers in Europe.
Looking ahead
The launch of Kukushkin Performance Academy at RozaRossa marks an important milestone for international tennis, combining the experience of a top ATP professional with one of the most advanced training infrastructures in Europe. We congratulate Mikhail Kukushkin on this new chapter in his career and wish him continued success in developing future generations of professional tennis players. We also wish continued growth and success to RozaRossa as it strengthens its position as one of Europe’s leading tennis development centers.
